Demon possession, for this ep. Dean received a call from a man he and his father had previously helped in a poltergeist case. The brothers were asked to investigate a plane crash with 7 survivors, in which one of the passengers had been possessed by a demon. Listening to the recording from the crashed flight, they heard the words, "no survivors", which didn't make sense at first (since there were survivors), but then they realised that the demon was killing off the remaining passengers, one by one.

Supernatural (S01E03) - Dead in the Water
First Aired: September 27th, 2005
Looks like watching this show is going to be a game of "hey, that's [insert actor/actress from fave show/movie here]!" With this episode, it's Amy Acker, who plays Andrea Barr. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The Winchester brothers find themselves in Lake Manitoc, Winsconsin to look into a series of unexplained drownings, in which the bodies were never found. They talk to the most recent victim's brother, who told them she was pulled under, but he couldn't see by what. The local sheriff told them that the drownings were likely accidental, and they didn't have any predators in the water large enough to pull anyone under. Their conversation was interupted as his daughter, Andrea (Amy Acker!) walked in, and Dean got her to walk them to the nearest motel.

Supernatural (S01E02) - Wendigo
First Aired: September 20th, 2005
As wussy as I am with scary stuff, I decided to watch episode two. In broad daylight. With my cat on my lap. Haha.
This episode opens right in the aftermath of the pilot, which saw Sam and Dean take off together to hunt the demon that killed their mother and Jessica. But their father had been searching for the same demon for years, so they figure their best bet was to find their missing father first. The coordinates their father left Dean led them in the middle of the woods in Colorado. There, they found out about missing hikers (one of them played by Cory Monteith! Not the surviving one, unfortunately), and research revealed that it happened every few years since 1936.

Supernatural (S01E01) - Woman in White
First Aired: September 13th, 2005
Why I started watching: For the heck of it.
Will I continue watching: Maaaybe.

So, neither of us have blogged here in a LONG time. Kit, because she's super busy, and me, because I'm super lazy. Trufax. Anyway, in my lazytimes I haven't been watching as much Japanese dramas, because hey, they use up more brains for me. Not that I haven't been watching ANY, though. Just not as much. Because of books. And American TV. I have been watching Glee on and off (it keeps pissing me off and making me quit, but it's on Astro, and I love show choir, so I still do watch when I happen to catch it), and started on a How I Met Your Mother re-watch (but then stopped, because I HATED the finale), and finally started on the second season of Elementary. All of which I'm NOT writing about in this post. Instead, I'm writing on the first episode of the first season of Supernatural... which I'm watching for the first time!

13-sai no Hello Work: Episode 2
Title: 13歳のハローワーク (13-sai no Hello Work)
Aired: January 13th, 2012 - March 9th, 2012
Back in the present time, Kogure's life was more or less back to normal, with the cases that he found rather meaningless. He got a call from a mysterious person who asked if he would like to return to the past. Since he haven't yet achieved his goal of changing his life, he said that he wanted to return. He was told that the rules are simple - he wasn't to tell anyone that he's from the future. At the police station, he met a girl who was charged for compensated dating, he told her that money was something to be earned through hard work, not realising that he was holding a book on horse racing at the time. She called him on his BS and said that he looked just the same as "that guy", referring to a man on television who appeared to be a ruthless corporate type. Less than impressed with the man on television, Kogure went to the washroom, where discovered that he had gone back to the past, and not just anywhere - he was in the female washroom of Teppei's cram school. He was discovered by Teppei's classroom teacher and taken to the staff room for a scolding. There, he discovered that the classroom teacher had been receiving disturbing "love letters", and advised her not to dress so provocatively all the time. (>.<)

This drama is based on the mystery novels by Mikami En, set in Biblia Koshodou, an antiquarian bookstore in Kamakura. Shinokawa Shioriko, the owner of the bookstore, is a typical bibliophile, particularly in love with old books and the stories they tell about the people who owned them. Shinokawa is shy, especially when dealing with strangers, but she becomes very passionate when talking about books.

When it comes to time travel stories, I've always preferred the type in which the protagonist would go back to their own childhood and affect change in their own life, rather than the ones that go back generations to change history. 13-sai no Hello Work is one of these, where Kogure Teppei (Matsuoka Masahiro) is a police officer who had wanted to be a detective, but ended up in the community safety section where he couldn't find any meaning in his work. On his 35th birthday, he had a particularly bad day at work, was told that there was no way he could improve his job situation when he went to Hello Work, and got dumped by his girlfriend. He got drunk and passed out at a karaoke place, but when he woke up, he found that he had gone back in time, 22 years ago. The "current" him was only 13; he realised that if he guided his past self to a good school and university, then perhaps he would be able to reach for the future/career he wanted.

Arashi no Shukudai-kun!: Episode 37
Aired On: June 18th, 2007
Continuing my re-watch! At the gathering I was transferring some of my Mago Mago files to Fatin's pendrive, and I thought of how there are a lot of episodes I've yet to watch, which made me think, I should start on a Mago Mago watching project!, which reminded me that I have yet to continue my Shukudai-kun re-watch. ^^; So, continuing, after so long.
The guest this episode is ManaKana, or Mikura Mana and Kana, twin singer/actresses. Their homework to the guests was to investigate rare and delicious cuisine from Okinawa. The first item introduced was "gouya (bitter gourd) burger", which they thought was delicious but didn't really have much of a bitter gourd flavour. Aiba said it tasted like shisa (the lion/dog decoration, I think from Okinawan mythology?), and ended up eating half of the burger meant for all of Arashi, before Jun reminded him not to finish it. He gave Jun his half-finished burger in response, lol.

From the Skip Beat! OST: 華麗的獨秀 by Super Junior M
Here's the song that appears at the beginning, in Tumblr. I thought I wouldn't like it at first, as with everything Skip Beat! - but it grew on me.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
